WELKOM OP DEZE SITE
Gedurende enige jaren heb ik gewerkt aan de promotie van een tram in Eindhoven als kern van het OV-net in de stad. Het moet een integraal onderdeel vormen samen met het busvervoer. Er zijn voldoende reizigers. Een tramlijn is daarom verantwoord.
Daarnaast heb ik een plan ontwikkeld voor een tram-trein-verbinding (klik) tussen station Best, Airport Eindhoven en Veldhoven.
De foto aan de kop van de weblog is gemaakt in Praag (Praha) in de buurt van de halte Barrandov in het zuidwesten van de stad.

My contributions:
First a concept of a tramline in the city of Eindhoven based on bringing together of the busroutes on the two central axes (with each 8 or 9 lines). The remaining parts of the busroutes change in feederlines.Second a concept for a innovative tram-trainroute to Airport Eindhoven in the region.
Third a plan "EINDHOVEN - BLOSSOMING CITY" : an integrated development in the city-centre for urban transport, cars and city-centre functions.
So the public transport can reach an qualitative higher stage.

MESSAGE
NO TRAM, BUT "TRAMLIKE" BUSES IN EINDHOVEN IN THE FUTURE
The regional authority of transport of Eindhoven (SRE) decided in July 2010 not to use a tram but a bus for the dedicated lanes (HOV) in her territory.
Nor did she want to pay any eurocent for making those lanes constructive "tramproof" in the future.
The SRE made its decisions on the basis of one research and one marketconsultation. Both used the trunk-branch corridor-model. (Instead of a necessary trunk-feeder corridormodel)
It seems as if the possibility for a tram in Eindhoven is lost at this moment. Although the city of Eindhoven continues to make the lanes "tramproof" in spatial terms for the HOV-2 line.
In the future there may be a conflict between the city and citycouncil of Eindhoven and the SRE on this subject.
In practice the HOV-2 buslane will be used for the most part as a normal one. This because it will also be used by 8-9 normal buslines. With possible consequences for the speed.
The tasks of the SRE on urban transport have gone back to the province of North-Brabant.

There is now a discussion about urban transport in the city and province. Maybe with more HOV as a kind of BRT and an integral transport system.
